Pick of the Day September 15: LA Angels (70-73) at Cleveland (58-85)

Pick: Under 8 -115
Why?

ProlineExperts are on their first MLB losing streak. To make up for that, we will post our NFL pick of the week on the website; so even non-members will be able to view it. And for the members we will include an extra NFL pick.

Stud Jered Weaver gets the call for the Angeles. In his only start against the Indians this season he went 6 strong only allowing a single run. The Angles have gone under the total 19 of the 27 times he started this season. In the past 10 games the Angles have a .205 batting average and have really been struggling to score runs.

Pitching for the Indians is 22 year old Jeanmar Gomez. This season at home he has a 1.50 ERA in 4 starts. Even if he runs into trouble, the Indians bullpen that holds a 1.61 ERA in the past 2 weeks will be able to save him. This season the total has gone under 6 of 7 meetings.

Pick of the Day September 13: Toronto (73-70) at Baltimore (55-88)

Pick: Toronto +115
Why?

The Baltimore bullpen has been really ugly. For them to stay close in this game they need a big start from Brian Matusz, who will be pitching on short notice. In his only start against Toronto this season he only lasted 1.2 innings allowing 6 earned runs. Brian is a left hander however he does worse against right handed batting. All signs are pointing to a Jays win.

The Jays are coming off a walk off win over the Tampa Bay Rays. The Jays send Marc Rzepczynski to the hill tonight. Look for the O's to struggle against another left handed pitcher like they normally do. If Marc begins to struggle than you can expect the bullpen to take over and keep everything close. The Jays bullpen has about 3 more reliable arms than the O's bullpen for today's game. Stat of the day: The Jays have won all 12 meetings this year!

I would like to apologize for the last pick coming up short. In order to make up for it, I have made today's pick an underdog to assist in getting you some more value. Pick of the Day September 11, 2010: LA Dodgers (70-72) at Houston (67-74)

Pick: Under 7.5 -110
Why?

The Dodgers will be without two main batters for today's game. Russel Martin is still on the DL with his hip injury and James Loney is expected to get the day off today. The Dodgers bullpen has been great these past two weeks with an ERA of 3.51. On the hill for them today is John Ely who has nothing to worry about since he is playing the Astros. In the Dodgers last 6 games, they have gone under the total.

The Astros...Many times I have made picks for the under for Astros games and heres why. Wandy Rodriguez takes the mound today and he is having another great season. Good news for him that he is playing a Dodgers line up that doesn't fare well against Left handed pitching. And now for the Stat of the day: 18 of the past 19 Astros games have gone under the total. 18 of the past 19!

This game will be boring, low scoring and will finish fast. Perfect recipe for the under! Also, come by our NFL PICKS section tomorrow to see our pick of the week! Thanks for the support!

Pick of the Day September 10: Minnesota (83-57) at Cleveland (57-83)

Pick: Twins -150
Why?

The Indians send Fausto Carmona to the mound tonight. He has had a very mediocre season however his starts against the Twins have been just plain out awful. In two starts against the Twins this season he has a 7.43 ERA in 13.1 innings. His batting average against left handed hitters is .286 and that isn't good news against a Twins team built by Ron Gardenhire as a left handed lineup.

The Twins have won 6 straight games which include sweeps over Texas and KC. To make matters ever better they have Carl Pavano on the hill. Pavano has only placed the Indians once this season and in that start he dominated going 7 strong inning and only giving up a couple runs. If he does get into any minor trouble, the bullpen will have as back as most of them are on at least 2 games rest. With a bullpen ERA of 3.39 this season, they have nothing to fear.

Pick of the Day September 8: NY Mets (68-71) at Washington (60-79)

Pick: Under 8 -105
Why?

Livan Hernandez has been struggling lately but which better team to turn it around against than the team you have been dominating all season. Livan has 3 starts against the Mets this season going 20.1innings with a 1.33 ERA. 21 of Livan's 27 starts have gone under the total. Also the Nationals have maintained a bullpen ERA under 3 for the past month. Something else to consider is that the Nationals are only batting .255 against right handed pitching this season.

Pitching for the Mets tonight is surging right hander R.A. Dickey. Dickey has been great this season with his ERA only at 2.93 in 21 starts. You can expect Dickey to control the Nationals lineup just as he has done this season against them. In 2 starts against the Nationals (both on the road) Dickey has a 1.38 ERA in 13 innings. All signs are pointing to taking this game under. Take it!

Pick of the Day September 7: Tampa Bay (83-54) at Boston (77-61)

Pick: Tampa Bay -110
Why?

The Red Sox are a team plagued by injuries. 5 of their starting 9 batters (from opening day) are injured at this moment. To make matters worse, pitching for them tonight will be Daisuke Matsuzaka. This season Dice-K has a 5.75era against the Rays in 11 innings. Dice-K is having many control problems lately and against a Rays team that loves to steal, that can't be good news for the lowly Red Sox.

The Rays have won 6 of their past 8 meetings with the Red Sox. Expect that pattern to continue tonight as David Price will be pitching. David Price is a Cy Young candidate that is having the dream season. If he can go at least 7 innings this game and limit Tampa to only use Wheeler and Soriano from the pen, then you can almost guarantee a Rays win.

Pick of the Day September 6: Texas (75-61) at Toronto (70-66)

Pick: Toronto -137
Why?

The Rangers are on a 3 game losing streak and lost 6 of their past 8 games. In their past 5 games, only one starter has finished the 6th inning. Their bullpen has been getting a lot of work and if youngster Tommy Hunter doesn't go deep today, the bullpen will get smashed. In Tommy Hunter's career against the Jays he has been rocked going 12innings with a 7.50ERA. Texas will be without Josh Hamilton, Elvis Andrus, and setup pitcher Frank Francisco.

The Jays are coming off an impressive win over the Yankees last night and look to continue that when they send Ricky Romero to the mound. Ricky has been lights out at home going 77.2innings in 11 starts with a 2.77 ERA. The only time he is better at home is when he is playing the Rangers as he has a 0.56 ERA in 16 innings this season. The Jays have even won all but one of the games against the Rangers this season. Look for the Jays to win this game this afternoon.
