Pick: Under 7 -110
Why?
Pitching for the Cards today is Chris Carpenter who is 14-4 with a 2.93 era. In his career against the Astros he has a 2.82 era in 121.1 innings. You know what to expect when Carpenter is on the mound, especially against a soft Houston lineup. The Card offense only had 2 hits last night. And recently they have been struggling against left handed pitchers batting .240 in the last 2 weeks.
The Astros send out their ace Wandy Rodriguez to shut the door on the Cardinals. Wandy has been lights out at home this season with a 2.85 era in 13 starts. With the Cards not batting well, they need to score with the long ball and you can cross that off the list because Wandy isn't the type of pitcher to give up homeruns. Since July 20th he has only allowed a single homerun. Stat of the day: The last 9 Houston gaves have gone under the total.

Pick of the Day August 30: Philadelphia (73-57) at LA Dodgers (67-64)
Pick: Philadelphia -140
Why?
2 Words... Roy Halladay. Since coming to the NL and even before Roy was a workhorse. This season he is averaging almost 8 innings per start. These teams only faced off 3 times this year with the Phillies winning twice. Sure the Phillies aren't as dominant on the road as they are at home however pitching for them is Roy Halladay. Giving a -140 line to the Phillies is an insult to Halladay. Take advantage of the value today.
The Dodgers are coming off a horrible series to Colorado. The Dodgers will have a limited bullpen for tonight's game due to their horrendous performance yesterday. So they need Kiroki Kuroda to pitch a stellar game against a Phillies team that eats right handed pitching. The last time Kuroda pitched against the Phillies he went 1.1 innings allowing 6 earned runs.

Pick of the Day August 29: Philadelphia (72-57) at San Diego (76-52)
Pick: Under 7 -105
Why?
The Phillies have a strong lineup that would scare the sh*t out of any team in the league. The problem is that their lineup is built on batters that can hit for power against right handed pitching. Today when they play a hard throwing left handed pitcher in Clayton Richard, their lineup will struggle. In the past 10 games the Phillies have batted .205 against left handed pitching. Everyone on their starting lineup other than Shane Victorino struggle against left handed pitching. Pitching for the Phillies is Cole Hamels who has gone under 17 times in his 26 starts this season. Also they have gone under in their past 7 games.
The Padres send out Clayton Richard to the mound. Clayton has been hot this past month. In his last 3 starts he has a 1.29 era. The Padres have many injuries to their lineup. They have 5 batters on the DL. In their 6 meeting this season, all the games except for one have gone under. May I also point out that this game is being played in the most pitcher friendly ball park in all of baseball. Under anyone?
Yesterday I did not have a Pick of the Day as I didn't find a game that stood out to me as a game that could earn you money with minimal risk. Keep supporting this blog and visit our new website for the most up to date picks and betting advice. http://prolineexperts.webs.com

Pick of the Day August 27: Houston (58-69) at NY Mets (63-64)
Pick: Under 7.5 -125
why?
The Mets send out Michael Pelfrey to the mound tonight to shut down the Astros. Pelfrey has been on fire lately, with a 1.63 era in his past 3 starts. Even better news for him, he's playing a Houston team that is struggling to hit that's batting .230 in the past 2 weeks. In the past 14 games the Mets have gone under 10 times. Also all the meetings between these teams have gone under this season. Pelfrey will control the Astros but can the Astros shut down the Mets lineup?
Yes they can! The Mets will be without Jason Bay and Jose Reyes tonight. And to make matters worse they are playing against one of the Astros hottest pitchers Nelson Figueroa who has a 2.98 era this season. All of Nelson's starts this season have gone under. The Astros last 5 games have gone under. The Astros will be playing without Jeff Keppinger and Geoff Blum. This game is screaming under.

Pick of the Day August 26: Detroit (63-64) at Toronto (66-60)
I would like to begin this post by making a comment regarding yesterday's birthday special pick. No bet is a guarantee, if it was than it wouldn't be gambling. My job as a sports handicapper is to analyze the bets and find a bet that has value and the most probability of winning. Yesterday's Tiger game was the perfect example of a perfect bet..on paper. Sports aren't played on paper. I promise to give the best picks everyday that have value and a great chance of winning and you can see that with my record however there will be some times where a bet; no matter how good it is will not work out. Thanks for the support and check out the new website http://prolineexperts.webs.com/
Pick: Toronto -142
why?
The Blue Jays are coming off a very impressive series victory over the Yankees in which the hit a lot of homeruns like we are used to seeing. Tonight they are playing against a hard throwing right handed pitcher. Hard throwing right hander + Jays line up = Homeruns! The Jays send out arguably their best pitcher this season in Ricky Romero. When Ricky is pitching, you know what you can except and with a Tigers lineup that struggles against left handed pitchers only batting .215 in the past 10 games, that is great news for the Jays.
The Tigers are coming off a disappointing loss against the Royals. In that game last night they used 6 different pitchers. With their bullpen already struggling greatly they will need to rely on Max Sherzer heavily. Sherzer has been great in his past few starts however the Jays love playing against right handed pitchers that have a mean fastball. If things go south you can expect Sherzer to start walking Jays batters that don't mind taking a free pass and with the treat of homeruns, that isn't a good thing.

SportsDude's Birthday Special: Kansas City (53-73) at Detroit (63-63)
Pick: Detroit -170
Why?
The Tigers are a different team at home and you can tell when you look at their 43-24 home record. Also they have won their last 5 games which coincidentally were played at home. In each of those games the Tigers won by an average of 6.6 runs. In today's game their pitcher will be Armando Galarraga who in his last start pitched 7 shutout innings. In the last 10 games the Tiger have been batting .347 against right handed pitching which coincidentally is what they are playing against today.
The pitcher for the Royals today is Sean O'Sullivan. In his last 5 starts he has gone without pitching a quality start. He also made a relief appearance a couple of days ago and that will not help him out in today's game. The Royals bullpen has been getting too much work this past week and the era in that span has been around 6. Sean O'Sullivan will not pitch too many innings and when he comes out the Tigers will light up the Royals bullpen.
I hate betting on huge favorites however I can't see the Royals winning this game. This game should have been more than -200! It wouldn't even matter if the Royals all took steroids before the game, their pitching is not enough to win this game. Even if they get a lead the bullpen will blow it. Good luck with your picks today and thanks for your support!

Pick of the Day August 25: Oakland (62-62) at Cleveland (50-75)
Pick: Oakland -140
Why?
The biggest surprise of the 2010 season is pitching for the A's today. Trevor Cahill has been a stud this whole season holding a 13-5 record with a whip under 1 and an era of 2.54. Oakland has been on a bit of a role winning 5 of their past 7 games, including a 5-0 win over the Indians last night. With the limited offense the A's have they always manage to score somehow; whether it is a the long ball or taking advantage of the other team's mistakes they always manage to score. The A's have won 5 of the 7 meetings this season between these teams and with Cahill on the mound, don't expect that to change.
The Indians have lost 6 of their past 7 games and those games weren't even close. Today they send Mitch Talbot to the mound who holds a 8-10 record with an era of 4.23. In his past 3 starts he has failed to pitch 5 innings and hasn't pitched at least 6 innings since June 27. With a bullpen that has an era of 4.22, that is not good news.
Yesterday's underdog picked worked out for all of us bringing my record to 8-2. My advice for today's pick is to bet this asap because the line will be getting bigger in favor of the A's. By game time the line might be closer to -160. In a betting market that gives the casino's an approximate 10% advantage, every amount of juice you pay counts. Take this bet quickly and early. Good luck to all and thanks for the support!

Pick of the Day August 24th: Florida (62-61) at NY Mets (62-62)
Pick: NY Mets +110
Why?
The Mets send out there best pitcher this season R.A Dickey. Dickey has been lights out this season at home going 5-1 with a 1.22 ERA. In the 13 games theses two teams played each other the home team has won 10. You can expect the Mets to pull out a tight victory against the Marlins.
Tonights pitcher for the Marlins is Josh Johnson. He has had a great season but has struggled on the road posting a 4-3 record with 3.38 ERA. In Johnson past 3 starts he has gone 1-1 with a 4.58 ERA. Josh Johnson will not be playing with is regular catcher as Ronny Paulino because has has been suspended by the MLB.
As I promised here is my underdog pick. This week I've been hot going 7-2. Hopefully it continues tonight when the Mets play the Marlins. Thanks for the support!

Pick of the Day August 23: Tampa Bay (76-48) at LA Angels (62-63)
Pick: Tampa Bay -140
Why?
The Rays are in Anaheim tonight to play the Angles. James Shields has been struggling as of late but this is the perfect opportunity to turn things around against an Angles team that has been struggling against right handed pitching these last few weeks. Shields is 4-3 with a 3.18 era against LA in his career. In his last start against Texas he went 7 inning only giving up 4 hits and 1 earned run. The Rays have stolen a league leading 148 bases, look for that to continue tonight because Angel’s catcher Jeff Mathis has only thrown out 9 of 39 base runners this season.
Scott Kazmir gets the call today and sadly this isn't the type of team he will enjoy playing. The Rays have been playing great against left handed pitching in the past 10 games as they have batted .304 in the past 10 games. The last time Kazmir played the Rays was earlier on this season and he got rocked. He struggled through 5 innings and luckily only managed to give up 3 earned runs. This won't be the case tonight, no way he gets lucky again.
This pick will be the cherry on top of the strong week. Current record is 6-2. I plan on giving a few underdog picks this week, just looking for the right games. Stay tuned. Thanks for the support! Please subscribe for even more picks.

Pick of the Day August 22: LA Angels (62-62) at Minnesota (71-52)
Pick: Minnesota -120
why?
The Twins have been on fire since the All Star break winning all but 6 of their past 26 games. One thing that they have been consistent all year in is hitting right handed pitching. In the past 10 games they are batting .299 against right handed pitchers. The right handed pitcher they are facing today is Jared Weaver. The Twins scored 3 runs on 6 innings against him the last time they played. But you may ask whats the difference now? The difference in today's game is that today Jared Weaver is on the road. The Twins are a different team at home and you can see that through their 39-22 home record.
Jared Weaver is a stud, we all know that. But if you take a deeper look into his stats you can see that he is two different people at home and on the road. His home era is 1.65 HOWEVER his road era is 4.50. That is a huge difference and we will see that difference tonight. The Angles in a whole are a bad team on the road as they have a 29-35 home record. Also the Angles bullpen used it's dominant relievers last night in their win and with nothing to play for they will not risk playing them on back to back nights. The pitchers you can expect to see are Trevor Bell, Scott Jepsen and Scott Shields; that is great news for the Twins.
This week my record is 5-2; not what I would wish for however still extremely reliable. The value on this game is very good and you can expect the line to stay the same so it wouldn't be too bad of an idea to bet close to game time on this game. At -120 for a Twins team at home this is a must bet. Good Luck to all and thanks for the support!

Before I explain the reasoning for this pick can I please say 3 words.
WHAT THE F_ _ K!
Yes I had to say it, the Phillies opened up as underdogs at home against the Nationals. Whos pitching for the Nationals? Roger Clemons. No I 'Misremembered' it's the hyped up rookie Strasburg.
Phillies are 21-6 in their last 27 games. They are just started to get everyone back from the DL. Chase Utley, Shane Victorino and Jimmy Rollins are all 100% again. Kyle Kendrick is even having a good season for someone named Kyle Kendrick. He may not have the era to back it up but the Phillies have been winning when he's playing. They are 14-9 in games he started. In his last start he was lights out against the Mets. He will look to continue that today. Also may I add that the Phillies are a team stacked with left handed batters that eat up right handed pitching.
The Nationals started this game as a favourite! WHAT? People are jumping on the Strasburg bandwagon like 16 year old boys with playboy magazine. Is he really that much of a difference to the slumping Nationals that only have 3 wins in their past 12 games. Considering that Strasburg played worse than my grandma in his past two starts since he came off the DL is an indication that the young stud isn't ready to be the next Roger Clemons just yet.
No way in hell the line should be this close. Vegas lines aren't stupid but the people throwing money at the Nationals on the FRIGGEN ROAD AGAINST THE PHILLIES sure are. Take Advantage of this line and you won't regret it. Thanks for the support!

Pick of the Day August 20: Houston (53-68) at Florida (61-60)
Pick: Florida -130
why?
In the last 10 meetings in Florida, the Marlins won 9 of them. Also they are on a 4 game winning streak. Chris Volstad hasn't been having the best season so far but he's in luck as the offense-less Astros are in town. If anything goes wrong, the Marlins bullpen has his back supporting a 1.93ERA in the past 10 games. As long as the Marlins can hit left handed pitching, this game is a wrap. May I remind you that the Marlins are batting .325 against left handed pitchers in the past 10 games. Yes, this game is a wrap.
When the Astros traded away their biggest power hitter in Lance Berkman they were a new team. They were actually winning games. However as fate would have it, they came back down to normal. By normal I mean one of the worst offensive teams in the majors. The Astros bullpen has been atrocious the whole season! After getting spanked 9-0 the Astros will expect a similar score as the Marlins love left handing pitching. Sadly enough for the Astros, they don't have the bullpen to back him up.
Unfortunately last night one of my picks turned out incorrect. This winner will look to change that. Thanks for the support and continue reading this blog for more winners than any other site. My proven record will never let you down.

Friday Special Pick: NY Mets (60-61) at Pittsburgh (40-81)
Pick: Under 8 -105
Why?
The Mets last 8 games have gone under the total. The Mets have failed to score more than 3 runs in the past 7 games. A great handicapper knows when to jump on and off a streak. This under streak is definitely not going to end tonight. Why is that you might ask? Because they are playing the only other team that has a bigger problem of scoring runs than them.
The Pirates suck, yeah we know but can they score? They have gone under the total in 7 of their past 8 games. To make things worse the Pirates are up against Michael Pelfrey. The strong right handed Kansas native is more than capable of taming the Pirates wild offense(hahaha wild..).
This isn't more of an expert pick than it is common sense. This game is going under and I think you should make some money off it. Take the under and start your weekend off on a winning note.

Record: [3-0]

Pick of the Day August 20: Atlanta (71-50) at Chi. Cubs (50-72)
Pick: Atlanta -135
why?
Hotlanta loves it when Jair Jurrjens is on the mound. In his past 9 starts, they won 7 of them. Atlanta isn't only hot when Jurrjens is pitching as they won 7 of their past 9 games overall. The Braves have been hot all season when facing right handed pitchers. You can expect Jurrjens to go 7 strong innings and after that the Braves bullpen that has a 3.15era will take care of the rest.
Chicago doesn't have the worst record in the majors but its okay, as they still have another month to accomplish that. If you look up the word "shit" in the dictionary you will find a picture of the Cubs. They just got swept at home to the Padres, and lost 7 of their past 9 games overall. Their bullpen has been used so much these past few games that they need Dempster to pitch a complete game. That won't happen because the Braves eat right handed pitching alive. The only thing worse than the Cubs these past 2 week are the Cubs playing at Wrigley.
Last night's pick was right on! Hope you guys take advantage of today's pick early because this game starts at 2:20pm EST. The juice on this pick is really nothing considering how bad the Cubs have been. Good luck to all!
Record: 3-0

Pick of the Day August 19: NY Mets (60-60) at Houston (52-67)
Pick: Under 8 +100
why?
The Mets haven't scored more than 3 runs in the past 6 games which is why their last 7 games have gone under the total. Tonight they face off against Bud Norris, a right handed pitcher they have never played before. The Mets greatest offensive weapon David Wright left last night's game in the 12th inning after throwing up numerous times in the dugout and chances are he will not be playing tonight.
Other than Carlos Lee the Astros have literally no power in their lineup. Third baseman Jeff Keppinger fractured his toe in last nights game so he will go on the DL sometime today. In the last 30 games the Astros were the favourites they have gone over the total only 8 times. The Astros will be up against lefty Patrick Misch who has only 1 start this season. Teams do not do well against pitchers they haven't seen before. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that this game is going under.
Last night's Pick of the Day was another success as the Twins beat the White Sox 7-6.

Free Pick August 18:Chi. White Sox (65-54) at Minnesota (69-50)
Pick: Minnesota -145
Why?
The Twins are on a roll, winning 8 of their past 9 games. In the 13 times they played the White Sox this season, they won 9 of those meetings. Tonight on the mound the Twins send out their best pitcher Francisco Liriano. The lefty has been real consistent this season so you know what to expect tonight. The Twins batters have been great against right handed pitching. They are batting .285 against right handers this season and .300 in the past 10 games.
The White Sox have struggled in Minnesota. In the last 26 games in Minnesota they lost 21 times. To add salt to the wound, the White Sox hate playing against a left handed pitcher. Hello Liriano! The White Sox have lost all momentum these past 2 weeks. At one point they were leading the division, now they're 4 games back having lost 7 of their past 9 games. Do not look for the White Sox to turn their fortune around against the Twins on the road. Someone give Ozzie Guillen a drink after this game, because he's going to need it.
Yesterday's pick was a winner! As I said, the Phillies will take a commanded lead once the bullpen comes in and they did just that. Expect my prediction to go the same for tonight's game. Leave your comments and follow us on twitter @ProlineExperts

Last Pick: August 17 Philadelphia -145
Tuesday, August 17, 2010
Free Pick August 17:San Francisco (67-52) at Philadelphia (66-51)
Pick: Philadelphia -145
Why?
The Phillies have been red hot since the All star break. They are 18-5 in their last 23 games. The only thing hotter than the Phillies are the Phillies at home. In their last 26 home games they collected 20 wins. To give Philadelphia another boost, Chase Utley might make the return off the DL today as he has been sidelined with an injury to his thumb. With Roy Oswalt on the mound today you know what you can expect.
The Giants are coming off a mediocre 7 game home stand which included a loss in the final 2 games. In the past 9 games the Giant starters have only finished the 7th inning once. Former Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum didn't even get through the 4th inning. You can expect their bullpen to be very limited.
This game will remain tight but look for the Phillies to take a commanding lead and stick with it. I can see the Phillies winning big and hurting the the Giants bullpen even more.
